Pelican mascot logo Inkscape tutorial using tapered lines, pen tool, and powerstroke
[videojs youtube=”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Go93o-eVO4″]
I’ll teach you how to use Inkscape to make a mascot design pop. Learn a few techniques such as powerstroke, how to taper lines and the pen tool in this Inkscape tutorial. Inking a design is the next step after sketching your mascot.
Creating tapered lines add personality to mascot character and sport design. I’ll be using my pelican logo mascot salmon advocate design to demonstrate these techniques.
This adorable salmon jerky mascot fella is for sale!

Originally drawn in Adobe Illustrator, I looked to see how my pelican logo mascot design might also be drawn in Inkscape. The tools are a bit different, and a few more steps are required to access the tools sometimes, but it is still definitely possible to design mascots using free Inkscape!
