In this video I introduce the Cricut Joy, it’s benefits and features, unbox it live, do a cut on Smart Vinyl without a mat, and then give you my first impressions of the Cricut Joy and what I think it’s going to work best for!
So this morning a little bundle of joy arrived on my doorstep, only it wasn’t delivered by a stork — it came from Fedex! And inside was a brand new Cricut Joy. I haven’t opened the box yet, because I thought it would be more fun to unbox it WITH you!
But wait — do you KNOW what a Cricut Joy is yet? If not, allow me to introduce you to it…
The Cricut Joy is a “compact smart cutting machine.” And yeah, it’s smaller than a Cricut Explore or Maker, but it’s NOT just a “mini Cricut” at a lower price point. I’ll admit, that’s what I thought at first, too. The Cricut Joy actually does a bunch of really cool things that neither the Explore or Maker can do, such as cutting vinyl without a mat (using Cricut’s smart vinyl), longer cuts where you can cut a continuous image up to 4 feet long), easier and faster cards (using the new insert cards and card cutting mats), amazing labels (with writeable vinyl and pens), and repeated shapes (that you can cut up to 20 feet long). And YES, the Cricut Joy is super portable, too — it’s under 6 lbs. and only 8 and a half inches wide by 5 and half inches deep.
But we don’t just get things because they’re cute, right? Right?
We get them because they offer solutions, like the ability to make something faster or easier or better. So let’s take a closer look at the Cricut Joy, unbox it, cut something, and see what it’s materials and accessories look like. We’ll experience the Joy together for the first time, I’ll share my initial impressions with you, and we’ll see what makes it different from other cutting machines!
